[]one of those ambitious business-types, with a
CA frame of mind at the best and worst moments.

[]Life:
[]Not being able to sleep late anymore[]still
spending half my time lost in this damn
city[]when I'm not walking the dog or avoiding
my phone[]because half my life is spent at
work[]and the rest of it I'm ducking social
circles like the plague[]but it barely works
anymore because of people[]knowing everybody
knowing everybody else[]life didn't used to be
this insane.[]

[]I could live on nothing but a good book[]the
more twisted and introspective the better
because who needs anything[]besides something
to confuse[]like all the bright lights I shy
from[]this city is alive with the possibility of
getting lost and I can feel a million miles
away[]in the empty stares of people[]so distant
and forgotten[]like I want to feel[]everything
dashed and broken as the glass outside my
window[]that I watch the glint of dulled
neon across the street every night[]life that I
can feel and see just beyond the glass[]that
serves as my wall of sanity[]amid the dark
lights and it's so easy to see[]the stars at
midnight above the city skyline[]

[]At home:
in Chelsea, a step up from the past but still
just one big mess of city and noise.
[]At work:
in Manhattan, hell of a commute, all the way
right into the middle of the fires of the
corporate world.
But let's not lie and pretend like I don't
love playing their games and breaking their
toys.
